Slow Cooker Chicken

This is probably the easiest main course you’ll ever make. Slow cooker chicken is fantastic for busy schedules and leftovers.

Organic & Fair-Trade Ingredients:

  • 5-6 lbs whole organic chicken

  • Organic seasonings to sprinkle on top (dried herbs, garlic powder, sea salt, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. Place whole raw chicken into slow cooker

  2. Sprinkle seasonings on top

  3. Set slow cooker setting to low heat and cook for approximately 7 hours on low

  4. Serve when internal temperature of 165º F is reached

  5. Optional: baste chicken every hour while cooking

  6. After cooking is completed, add additional seasonings if desired

  7. Refrigerate unused chicken and store for up to 4 days 

Note:

  • Chicken can be used for salads, stir fries, tacos, soups, etc.

  • Chicken carcass/bones can be saved to make homemade broth for soup
